The area of El Campello boasts 23 km of magnificent beaches which offer a wide variety of water sports.
The modern seaside area of Carrerlamar, formerly the fisherman's district, is one of the most attractive on the Costa Blanca. Here you can see the charming old one storey houses which are a reminder of Campello's history. This is quite varied as the remains of a bronze age settlement, a 4th century BC Iberian village and Greek vases have been found here.
There is a narrow gauge railway which runs from Alicante to Denia and this offers a pleasant alternative to the car when travelling to and from Campello.
The local fresh seafood restaurants are to be recommended and the fish stew. El Caldero is truly delicious.
